Driving
I remember my first driving experience. I was 13 and we had just had an ice storm. So my dad had me drive around in the backyard (pretty large) to learn how to drive on ice a bit. That summer (I had just turned 14 by now) we were cutting trees along the fencerow at the farm, and he decided that even though I'd never driven on a road before, I should back a trailer to the house. I only jacknifed it once, and recovered myself.
How did you learn to drive?

I believe I "stole" (car wasn't legal to drive, neither was I) my compact SUV with a stick-shift and attempted to drive it with no knowledge of the handling, little knowledge of driving rules, and no knowledge of driving a stick, down a curvy dirt road near my home at the time. (Dr. Carasco knows where, I believe.) Long story short, lost control, jumped over a ditch, into a field, spun around backwards, and asked a motorcycle driver to pull me out. Luckily, said driver owned a pickup, but yeah... Good memories.
I was 10 and sat on my mom's lap...and ever since then i just watched her do the stick and i learned from watching.
and i started officially when i was 13 and ran errands at 14 when i was working at the cup
I learned to drive in Driver's Ed. My mom always wanted me to learn before that but I never really wanted to. I'm lame. >w<
The weather in Vegas was nice.. a little cold, but the wind was perfect and it wasn't too anything. All in all I preferred it to the biting winds I returned to in Wichita.
First, I drove around a big parking lot at the local campgrounds. I gradually progressed to driving on country roads to driving around town to driving to other big cities. Nothing special, except the very first time I passed someone, it was a semi with explosive nitro in it, and I nearly ran into them.
in our kinda newish van at a vacant old randall's parking lot at 11 at night so there wouldnt be any other drivers
Diddo to Robin.
Thanksgiving when I was fourteen my Dad took me out onto the dirt roads around Newton. We were in our 1983 Toyota Camry that is a stick, we got out there and he pulled over and got out saying "your turn". I did not have any wrecks and only came close to hitting two cars when I went to cross a highway.
I went around and around and around that high school parking lot so many times...
I just got in a drove...I can't really remember a lot of the details but I do remember my mom yelling at me a lot lol
Thanks for stopping by my page! Come by anytime!
Started with shifting the stick from the passanger side, and then I stumbled upon watching a show on TV that explained how to drive manual. When I was 15 my dad took me to the cemetary to learn to drive... I suppose if we would've died in the process, at least we were at the right place. Once we got going [and I got out of 1st gear], he said that I picked up learning manual very quick. Thanks to that show.
Good answer, very similar to mine
