  • One month until Christmas

Yep, that’s right folks.  In one month it had better be nice and cold so I can have a big fire in the fireplace whilst we look at shiny things.  And there had better be shiny things!  Tin foil, sequins, stuff that sparkles.  If you want me to drool over anything, just make it sparkle, especially with glitter.
Thanksgiving break has been comparable to torture, there is only a dial-up connection here and my instant message program got messed up on my jump drive.  But I’m back for awhile now.  Good part of break:  Since the normal sound man is out of town, I’ve gotten to spend lots of time on the new sound board at the church.  Got to go see Happy Feet last night with the Frass.  Thanksgiving (party?) was nice, somehow it wasn’t as hectic this year as it was in past years.  More later, maybe, the parents are leaving now and I must go with them to get them to feed me.

5:45 – Went to Granite City Brewery for an early lunch with the folks (it was a huge chicken sandwich, it was, and they have Wild Cherry Pepsi! ), then went to Johnson’s Garden Center, where they have some cool (and cheap) Christmas ornaments.  The kind of ornaments with the bright colors.  Meaning the kind I like, I just never got into the drab color thing.  We’ve been decorating the house since last weekend (for Christmas, we like to have it decorated at least partways by the time people come over for Thanksgiving. I did the outside, but I think there’s more to do, Dad just doesn’t want to do it.  He’s more worried about cleaning out the barn.  I decorated my room yesterday, but I put most of my decorations back in their boxes, cause I just don’t get to enjoy the room as much when I’m off to college.  I’ve got pics, I’ll post them up when I get back to the dorm.  And I think I want to do cynarajane’s contest, the part where you upload something of your voice.  I’m going to use Jonelle‘s favorite song.
So, here’s an idea: I’m thinking about I’ve decided to try linking to the Xangas of people I talk about in my posts.  Anyone have any thoughts about that?  Oh, and what about the colors?  I’ve had a suggestion to incorporate the red from the pawn’s blood, still mulling it over.  Anything else?

  • If it is cold both here and where you are on Christmas, I will blame you for wishing too hard and too unspecific-ally. And if it’s cold here and not cold there, then I’ll blame you for not wishing hard enough to make all of the cold gather over there. In any case, if it’s cold here, I’m going to hold you personally responsible.

Thanksgiving was good turkey, canned cranberry sauce WITHOUT whole cranberries (sacrilege) and ready-made mashed potatoes at The Boy’s father’s house. And there was NO PIE. Explain that to me. It was a Thanksgiving without pie. Dear God.

  • Oops! My bad! I have committed the sin of the technically inept.

  • Thanks, Mr. Horton.

  • Yeah, we should start decorating. Everyone seems so happy.
