Last week was a good week for me in Xanga, and a busy one:
I also made initial contact with some cool new Xangans. While there are people behind the Xanga site, it's not quite the same person as the Xangan, or more correctly, the Xangan is only a part (small or large) of who the person is. Don't forget to check out the people on the public subscriptions list, I really think they'd be worth your time. If I know you in RW, you're probably not on that list.
Today was busy. I woke up on time, but still managed to be late to breakfast, meaning I inhaled a plate of fried potato cubes, whatever they call them on the menu, along with a glass of Wild Cherry Pepsi. Since it's the first Sunday of the month and of advent, church ran late. We had setup for sound at 12:30. I got back to the dorm parking lot at 12:18 and still needed lunch. I ate in less than two minutes (mixed vegetables, company potatoes, and sausage) and made it to the other side of campus on time. The concert was easy, they did 3 songs and then I just sat around waiting for everyone else to get done so I could tear down. Every group performed well, but my favorite was the Rhapsody Ringers from FUMC.
Safa came over later to study CHE 350, electronic materials. We did a bit, looked at pictures of the lovely ladies I know, and had a fight about whether or not there was such a thing as deaf culture, because we were editing the frass's paper on sign language. I have my Christmas lights going right now, and we still haven't studied for 350 in the past 4 hours.
Safa asked an interesting question, and I'll repeat it here in an attempt to remember to ask it later: "Why can't muslims celebrate Christmas?"

yes, yes i would haha
haha, i love that i'm on a list of worthy subs that include dmv and other such xanga bigshots...
In response to the end question I would say that muslims could celebrate christmas I just do not think that they should because the whole meaning of the holiday would be nonexistent to them. Of course the meaning of christmas is completely lost to most christians. But from my understanding of the religion, muslims believe in Jesus as being a prophet but not as the messiah like we do.
You were making pretty good time to eat lunch and get to McCain, I am assuming it was in McCain, in twelve minutes.
In other news, I will be in Manhattan this Saturday and am considering a test of my ID in the card readers there on campus and a stop by your room to see your lights.
muslims wouldn't celebrate christmas precisely for the reason mrcolorful listed > they believe Jesus was an extraordinary man and prophet, but not the incarnate God.
it is amazing how adding something as simple as the lighting of an advent wreath to a service can add more than 15 minutes...
go you with your christmas lights...
and i actually scored a new subscriber this week... must be something in the ether of NYC
